Dafna Lemish is an Israeli media researcher in the fields of children, youth and leisure culture; as well as construction of gender identity in the media.

She served as the Dean of the College of Mass Communication and Media Arts, at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. She is also the founding editor of the Journal of Children and Media.[2] Lemish is Associate Dean for Programs at Rutgers University in New Jersey.
