Dan Bailey (born January 26, 1988) is an American former professional football player who was a placekicker in the National Football League (NFL). Bailey grew up in the Oklahoma City area and played college football for the Oklahoma State Cowboys. Following the 2011 NFL draft, Bailey signed with the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent. He spent seven years in Dallas, where he became the franchise's all-time leader in field goals made. He played for the Minnesota Vikings from 2018 to 2020.
On September 14, 2014, he successfully made his 91st field goal in his 100th attempt, which made him statistically eligible to become the all-time leader in percentage of field goals made in NFL History, which he remained until November of that year when Baltimore's Justin Tucker became eligible himself and surpassed him. Bailey and Tucker competed for the top spot from then through 2017, until Tucker passed Bailey for the final time on December 10, 2017. From then until then end of his career, Bailey's field goal percentage decreased and when he retired after the 2020 season, he was 12th on the all-time list. As of November 2024, Bailey remains the 15th most accurate field goal kicker in NFL History.
