Darren Russell Carrington[1] (born October 10, 1966) is an American former professional football player who was a safety for eight seasons in the National Football League (NFL) for five different teams. He played college football for the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks, averaging over 27 yards per kickoff return, with a career best of 99 yards. As a senior in 1988, he had 39 tackles, two interceptions and two forced fumbles, which was enough to get him selected in the fifth round of the 1989 NFL draft.
