Darren Throop is a Canadian businessman who is the founder and CEO of Entertainment One (eOne).[1] Through corporate acquisitions and partnerships, Throop has expanded Entertainment One's global footprint and network which includes film and television studio The Mark Gordon Company;[2] content creation venture Amblin Partners with Steven Spielberg, DreamWorks Pictures, Participant Media, and Reliance Entertainment;[3] leading feature film production and global sales company Sierra Pictures;[4] unscripted television production companies Renegade 83,[5] Paperny Entertainment[6] and Force Four Entertainment;[7] world-class music labels Dualtone Music Group[8] and Last Gang Records;[9] and award-winning digital agency Secret Location.[10]

Prior to Entertainment One he was the CEO of ROW Entertainment Income Fund.[11]

Throop sits on the IMAX Corporation Board of Directors.[12] He was recently inducted into the Canadian Music Industry Hall of Fame,[13] and recognized as Entrepreneur of the Year at the Grant Thornton Quoted Company Awards.[14]
