Professor David Lalloo | |

David Griffith Lalloo (born 1960) is a British parasitologist and Vice-Chancellor of Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine. He is also a Professor of Tropical Medicine there and an Honorary Consultant at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital.[1]
Lalloo trained in General (Internal) Medicine at Newcastle University,[2] gaining his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery in 1984, before undertaking further training in infectious diseases and tropical medicine, including three years at the University of Papua New Guinea.[1]
In 1999, Lalloo joined Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine,[3] leading the Faculty of Clinical Sciences and International Public Health from 2012-2018, as well as being Director of the Wellcome Trust Liverpool Glasgow Centre for Global Health Research and the Liverpool Wellcome Trust Clinical PhD Programme.[1]
Lalloo's research interests are in HIV related infections, malaria and envenoming.[2]
In May 2024, Lalloo was elected as a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences.[4]
