David McKean (born 1956)[1] is an American attorney, author, political advisor, and diplomat who served as the United States Ambassador to Luxembourg from 2016 to 2017. He was confirmed to the position in 2016 and sworn in on March 14, 2016.[2] He previously held the position of Director of Policy Planning at the United States Department of State from 2013 to 2016 under John Kerry.[3]
