Diomea (Attica)

Diomea or Diomeia (Ancient Greek: Διόμεια) was a deme of ancient Attica, located in the city of Athens, both within and outside the walls of Themistocles, in interior portion included the eastern sector of the city, and the external portion contained the Cynosarges.[1][2] It was located south of the Ilisus, between Alopece to the south and Ancyle to the east. A gate of Athens was called the Diomean Gate. Originally in the phyle Aigeis, it was later in the phyle Demetrias.
