Dmitrovsky District (Russian: Дмитровский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[4] district (raion), one of the twenty-four in Oryol Oblast, Russia. It is located in the southwest of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,249.8 square kilometers (482.6 sq mi).[2] Its administrative center is the town of Dmitrovsk.[1] Population: 12,196 (2010 Census);[3] 15,841 (2002 Census);[6] 18,217 (1989 Soviet census).[7] The population of Dmitrovsk accounts for 46.3% of the district's total population.[3]
