Dominique Jean, Baron Larrey (French: [larɛ]; 8 July 1766 – 25 July 1842) was a French surgeon and military doctor, who distinguished himself in the French Revolutionary Wars and the Napoleonic Wars. An important innovator in battlefield medicine and triage, and the Inventor of the flying ambulance. He is often considered the first modern military surgeon.
