Black Cube is an American contemporary art museum that operates nomadically. The museum is a non-profit organization that produces site-specific artworks in the public realm.
Black Cube is headquartered in Denver, Colorado and incubated by the David and Laura Merage Foundation.[1] Cortney Lane Stell is the founding Executive Director and Chief Curator.[2]
Black Cube has produced both permanent and temporary installations. Curator Cortney Lane Stell seeks out recognizable artists who have experience taking on large-scale projects. Recently, this includes Orisons, a 160-acre earthwork by artist Marguerite Humeau that pays homage to Colorado's San Luis Valley.[3] Adam Milner's project with Black Cube was featured on PBS ART21.[4] Lauren Halsey is a current Black Cube Artist Fellow.
