Crisscross Lodge is a historic landmark in Collierville, Tennessee. The house was constructed in 1913 , by the architecture firm Hanker and Cairns. The house is white with a hexagonal wood frame. The hexagonal design enhanced airflow and ventilation, allowing the home to remain comfortable year round. It also features poplar beveled weatherboard siding and an asphalt composition roof. The house has two stories, and features a prominent front porch, covering three sides of the hexagonal frame. The house has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places since April 6th, 1989.
The lodge is a signature example of Hanker and Cairns' architectural style. Other notable buildings built by the firm are St. Mary's Cathedral, the old Bank of Commerce and Trust Company Building and the new Bank of Commerce Building, the Shrine Building, Hotel Chisca, Nineteenth Century Club, Memphis Trust Building, Lowenstein and Brothers Building, Scimitar Building, and Peabody Hotel, among many others.
The lodge has remained relatively untouched since its construction. Initially serving as the private home of Laura Davis Elliott, it has served as a law office. Currently, it is the location of Music Box Inc.[1]
