Greg Fields is an American author known for his contributions to contemporary literary fiction. He gained significant recognition for his novel Through the Waters and the Wild, which won multiple awards, including the 2022 Independent Press Award for Literary Fiction, the Independent Publishers Association Award, and the New York Book Award for Literary Fiction.^[1]

Fields' third novel, The Bright Freight of Memory, released in November 2024, has been nominated for the PEN/Faulkner Award and a National Book Award.^[2]
