Joris de Bres (born 1947) is a former New Zealand politician, public servant and activist who served as the 9th Race Relations Commissioner from 2002 to 2013 from Amersfoort. Other positions he's held include Public Awareness Manager and General Manager External Relations at the Department of Conservation, chair (and current trustee) on the Trees That Count board and other roles at the Public Service Association, CORSO, CARE (New Zealand) and advisor to the Virtuoso Strings in Porirua. He continues his work as an environmental and social activist today.
