Draft:Lena Snow

  • Comment: Content like "best known for her sensual and expressive female portraits which have been exhibited and published around the world" is entirely inappropriate for an encyclopaedia. Please find independent sources and remove the primary ones, galleries, Instagram, Blurb etc Theroadislong (talk) 13:48, 1 August 2024 (UTC)
  • Comment: You need to look very hard at the quotes attributed to Snow. Look though the lens that we are not the least bit interested in what Snow has to say about herself. Instead we need to know what others have said about Snow.
Reputations are not made in Wikipedia. We only report on what others have said n secondary, independent, reliable sources.
The more I look at this draft the more I feel you need to start again, from scratch 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 10:12, 1 August 2024 (UTC)
  • Comment: Please remove Facebook and Instagram sources they are not reliable. Theroadislong (talk) 21:18, 31 July 2024 (UTC)
  • Comment: I have checked the first six references. One is 404 error, a couple do not mention Snow, two are sites selling her books. One s Snow speaking about her own work. This does not meet the criteria for referencing you were furnished with earlier. Please examine all the other references. I know you wish to have this article published. Please follow the advice you are given.
The tone is that of a magazine article, not an encyclopaedia. Add the tone to the sites flogging her stuff and you will be able to see why I consider this to be an advert. We require flat, neutral, dull-but-worthy prose, with no frills or fancies.
An example is "Due to some stressful years, she had almost given up on art. However, in March 2020 when the Corona Crisis struck the world, she could focus more on herself and started to paint again. Since then, she has devoted her life fully to art. Creativity has helped her through adolescence and traumatic life events. Yet, it was equally the process of emancipation and self-reliance that contributed to an elevation of her creativity." No citation and overblown prose. I chose purple on purpose.
Please scour this for other examples and cut, cut, and cut again. Lose the inappropriate references. If necessary lose any facts you are unable to cite. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 20:51, 31 July 2024 (UTC)
  • Comment: For a living person we have a high standard of referencing. Every substantive fact you assert, especially one that is susceptible to potential challenge, requires a citation with a reference that is about them, and is independent of them, in multiple secondary sources which are WP:RS, and is significant coverage. Please also see WP:PRIMARY which details the limited permitted usage of primary sources and WP:SELFPUB which has clear limitations on self published sources. Providing sufficient references, ideally one per fact cited, that meet these tough criteria is likely to make this draft a clear acceptance (0.9 probability). Lack of them or an inability to find them is likely to mean that the person is not suitable for inclusion, certainly today. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 07:14, 17 July 2024 (UTC)
  • Comment: Not clear how they would pass the criteria at WP:NARTIST? and Facebook is not a reliable source.Theroadislong (talk) 07:02, 17 July 2024 (UTC)
