Draft:Maniniwei

  • Comment: The article currently does a lot of editorializing in its current form, which should be trimmed down where appropriate. Some examples of such include "there are no sweet or beautiful images of her family", "Besides that, Maniniwei never worries about misspellings", and "Although Maniniwei has only started winning awards in recent years." Various similar examples exist throughout this page, which are more essay-like than encyclopedic. Utopes (talk / cont) 03:53, 12 November 2023 (UTC)
  • Comment: The first reference comes six paragraphs down, and it is to a source written by the subject herself!
Facebook and WordPress blogs are not acceptable sources, as they are user-generated. DoubleGrazing (talk) 10:02, 28 June 2023 (UTC)
  • Comment: Personal life should be sorted and trimmed to remove parts that are not relevant for a Wiki, such as how exactly she lives. Gorden 2211 (talk) 10:12, 21 June 2023 (UTC)

Maniniwei – the pen-name of Wǎn-wún Lin (Chinese:林婉文 /ˈwɑːnˈwɛnˈlɪn/ born in 1980) – is a Malaysian writer, painter, and illustrator currently living in Taiwan. She grew up in Malaysia, studied at the Fine Arts Department of National Taiwan Normal University in 1999, and married after graduation. Inspired by her unpleasant experiences, Maniniwei began her career as a writer at the age of 30. Her books center around themes including marriage, parenthood, and family. She composes prose, poems, and picture books. Her works are mostly about herself, describing her hated and abjection in a dark, sharp style. Her first award-winning book Dahulu Parang Sekarang Besi: Pantun Melayu won the Book of the Year from OpenBook and the 35th Golden Tripod Award in the literature category in 2021.
