NCT is a 23 member South Korean boy group formed by SM Entertainment, which composed of four sub-units which is NCT U (members changes depends on the music concept), NCT 127 (Taeil, Johnny, Taeyong, Yuta, Doyoung, Jaehyun, Winwin, Jungwoo, Mark and Haechan), NCT Dream (Mark, Renjun, Jeno,Haechan, Jaemin, Chenle and Jisung) and WayV (Kun, Ten, Winwin, Lucas, Xiaojun, Hendery and Yangyang) and Shotaro and Sungchan will debut later in future sub-unit. On April 4, 2016 their label announced NCT first sub-unit would be NCT U makes it debut on April 9, 2016 with the single "The 7th Sense" and and on April 10, 2016 with "Without You". On July 1, 2016 SM Entertainment announced second sub-unit, NCT 127 makes it debut in July 10 with extended play (EP) NCT #127 which earned them new artist awards during late 2016 and early 2017. On August later that year they announced it's third sub-unit, NCT Dream with single "Chewing Gum".

On 2017, NCT 127 released their second EP Limitless topping Gaon Album Chart and US Billboard World Album Charts. Also later that year NCT Dream release their first single album The First. The First's single "My First and Last" received it's first music show win on February 14, 2017 becoming the first NCT sub-unit to have a music Show win and the first song of NCT to have a triple crown. In June 2017 NCT 127 release their third EP Cherry Bomb. Cherry Bomb lead single "Cherry Bomb" received it's first music show win in M Countdown also receiving nominations from Korean Music Awards for Best Pop Song[1] and Mnet Asian Music Awards for Best Dance Performance — Male Group[2] and also a Disc Bonsang[A] nomination at Golden Disc Awards. NCT Dream release their first EP We Young in 2017.

On 2018, the whole NCT brand release their first album NCT 2018 Empathy and the fourth single "Touch" received it's music show win in M Countdown also the album receive nominations from Gaon Chart Music Awards for Album of the Year — 1st Quarter and Golden Disc Awards for Disc Bonsang. NCT Dream release their second EP We Go Up in 2018 the album receive nomination from Gaon Chart Music Awards for Album of the Year — 3rd Quarter in 2019. On 2018 NCT 127 released their first studio album Regular-Irregular topped Gaon Album Chart and also the album debut at number 86 on Billboard 200 becoming NCT 127 first entry on the chart. Regular-Irregular received nominations from Gaon Chart Music Awards and Golden Disc Awards winning Disc Bonsang award from Golden Disc Awards becoming the first Bonsang for the whole NCT and the lead single "Regular" received a nomination from MTV Video Music Awards for Best K-pop[3].

On December 31, 2018, SM announced that a fourth unit will debut, WayV. The sub-unit officially debuted on January 17, 2019 with a Chinese version of NCT 127's "Regular".[4][5][6] Their debut single album, The Vision, was released digitally and included a Chinese version of NCT 127's "Come Back" and an original song titled "Dream Launch". NCT 127 release their fourth EP We Are Superhuman, the album received nominations from Gaon Chart Music Awards and Genie Music Awards.
