Rihivi is an instrumental musician from Raahe, Finland. He started making music in 2019, and released his debut singles, Time and Home on YouTube on September 10th, 2020. So far he has released 8 studio albums, his latest being "Music for a late night drive". His music ranges from EDM and Dubstep to ambient and more recently, psychedelic styles.
Rihivi released his first album "Be Yourself" on YouTube on December 1st 2020. It features a wide selection of genres, such as Lo-fi, Dubstep and EDM. On March 30th, 2021 he released his second album "Beautiful Future" which has a more EDM and house focused sound. In May Rihivi started releasing his early music on Spotify and other streaming platforms, including an extended version of Be Yourself with 5 new tracks that were cut from the original release. His next album "Butterfly" was released in three separate parts on YouTube throughout summer 2021. All parts were released on streaming platforms in August in one album called "The Butterfly Collection" which was later renamed to "Butterfly (parts 1-3)"
His fourth album "If You Can't Stand The Noise, Stay Away From The Party" was released on September 10th, 2021 as a way to celebrate the one year anniversary of his debut singles. The album's title came from a photo of a young Rihivi wearing a t-shirt that has the album's name on it. Throughout autumn and winter 2021 he released multiple singles for his next album "Are You Listening?" which to this day is his longest album.
Rihivi spent most of 2022 working on "Unexpected Trip Down Memory Lane" which would be the beginning of his experimentation with psychedelic rock sounds. The album was released on September 10th 2022, and a deluxe edition with bonus tracks and alternate versions of songs came out on October 31st. His next album "Endless Feeling Of Confusion" has a similar sound to "Beautiful Future" because he wanted to take a step back and focus on that psychedelic sound for his next project.
"Music For A Late Night Drive", Rihivi's 8th album, was released in two parts. The first part came out on January 1st 2024, and part 2 on June 21st. It features a more focused and finished sound that's similar to "Unexpected Trip Down Memory Lane" and the complete album includes a total of 20 tracks. The album is his most experimental work ever. It uses recordings from rain, dog barking, morse code, classical music concerts, bird noises and a whole lot of other weird sampling.
The album cover is a journal with cutout photos of Rihivi's dogs, Usva and Riffi, who are featured on the track "Ukulele dogs". The cover art for part 2 has an alternate cover art that has a blue filter over it. The cover was edited by Twitch streamer and music content creator Tim Senna.
Rihivi's most recent singles, "Raindrop Highway" and "Pine Tree" are another step into the psychedelic rock sound.
