Draft:Sardar Jawala Singh Sandhu

Sardar Jawala Singh was a military commander under Maharaja Ranjit Singh Ji.[1] He is said to have lived in the village of Padhana, today in the Lahore District of Pakistan, across the border from Naushehra, India.[2] Sardar Jawala Singh was part of the Sikh community that at the time shared the area with Hindus and Muslims; those two groups have mostly left the area, and the people said to be his descendants are Muslim.[1][3]
