St. Thomas vs Strake Jesuit Rivalry is rivalry between competing football teams in the Houston area that began in 1964. St. Thomas holding the overall lead in the series in football 29-26-1. Strake Jesuit produced some of the best players in all of Houston like ^[1]David King, King was a dominant force on the football field at strake jesuit. after an exceptional high school career where he lettered three years, david went to the university of oklahomα. α 7th-round pick of the philadelphia eagles, david played for five different teams well playing in the NFL.For St. Thomas they had a beast on the Oline in Brian Gruber. Gruber was one of the best Olinemen in Houston out of high school Gruber committed to play at Vanderbilt. ^[2]Gruber was a second-team All-SEC selection in 2000. He played in every game in his college career (44 games), including starts in each of his last 33 contests. He signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as a undrafted free agent.
