Welcome to the Plunderdome

Taverns and Palaces is the second live album from The Lowest of the Low following 2002's double album Nothing Short of Bullet. The record derives its title from the two iconic Toronto music venues from which the live recordings were made: The Horseshoe Tavern and Lee's Palace. The double album features two eleven song sets recorded in 2019 and features songs spanning the bands full thirty year career.

The set at The Horseshoe Tavern was recorded on Friday, December 13th and the Lee's Palace set was recorded the next evening.

The Low's lineup for these recordings feature Ron Hawkins, David Alexander, Michael McKenzie, Lawrence Nichols and Greg Smith but they are complimented on some tracks by a horn section called The Legitmizers featuring Ruhee Dewji, Stephen Date and John Jewett.

Vocalist Skye Wallace also features on the band's cover of Portugal. The Man's 'Feel It Still.' The album also features a cover of Style Council's 'Walls Come Tumbling Down.'

Former Lowest of the Low guitarist Steve Stanley did the layout for the double album.
