The World Food Programme (WFP) Uganda has a significant presence in Uganda, focusing on addressing food insecurity, malnutrition, and building resilience among vulnerable populations. Despite Uganda's agricultural potential and recent socio-economic progress, the country faces high levels of poverty and food insecurity, exacerbated by climate shocks such as droughts and floods.[1] Uganda ranks 159th out of 193 countries on the Human Development Index (2023), and its food insecurity is classified as 'serious' by the Global Hunger Index 2023.[2]
