Durio oxleyanus is a perennial plant species of tree in the family Malvaceae.[2] It was once placed in the family Bombacaceae.[3]: 563 

The IUCN list the species as near threatened.[1]

It is a popular plant for food among humans and orangutans.[4]: 62
