Egypt competed at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, United States. The nation returned to the Summer Games after participating in the African boycott of the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal and the American-led boycott of the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow. However, Egypt did not participate in the Soviet-led boycott. 114 competitors, 108 men and 6 women, took part in 74 events in 15 sports.[2]
