Eliza Anderson Godefroy

Eliza Anderson Godefroy (pen name, Beatrice Ironside) is believed to be the first woman to edit a general-interest magazine in the United States. At age 26, from 1806 to 1807, she served as the founder and editor of a Baltimore publication called The Observer.[1]
