Emil Badi' Ya'qub (born November 27, 1950) is a scholar in the field of Arabic language studies and the dean of the Faculty of Arts and Arabic Studies at Suleiman International University. He is a contemporary editor and commentator with numerous annotations and explanations of key classical works in Arabic linguistics, such as his work on Sharh Shudhur al-Dhahab by Ibn Hisham al-Ansari, for which he provided an introduction, footnotes, and indexes. He is also the author of the well-known and beneficial work Al-Mu'jam Al-Mufassal fi Al-Shawahid Al-Arabiyya (The Detailed Dictionary of Arabic References) and has written extensively on Arabic calligraphy and edited numerous classical texts.
