Eric Mazur (born November 14, 1954) is a physicist and educator at Harvard University,[1] and an entrepreneur in technology start-ups for the educational and technology markets.[2][3] Mazur's research is in experimental ultrafast optics, condensed matter physics and peer instruction.[4][5] Born in Amsterdam, Netherlands, he received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Leiden University. He served as the President of Optica (formerly the Optical Society) in 2017.[6]
