Ernest Lavisse (French: [lavis]; 17 December 1842 – 18 August 1922) was a French historian.^[1] He was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature five times.^[2] Lavisse is also known for being one of the main creator of the roman national ("National myth", lit. "national novel"), thanks to his history schoolbooks.^[3]
