Esperance is a town in Schoharie County, New York, United States. The population was 1,806 at the 2020 census.[3] The town was given the name of the principal village, which was named for "hope" in French.[4]

The Town of Esperance contains a village called Esperance. The town is in the northeastern part of Schoharie County and is west of Schenectady.
