"Everybody Dies" is the series finale of the American medical drama television series House. It is the 22nd episode of the eighth season and the 177th overall episode of the series.[1] It originally aired on Fox in the United States on May 21, 2012. While treating a drug-addicted patient, House is forced to examine his life and future. The title references the series' first episode and House's mantra "Everybody Lies".[2]

The series finale aired immediately following "Swan Song", a two-hour retrospective episode.[3] The episode featured cameos from multiple characters from previous seasons, including Remy "Thirteen" Hadley, Allison Cameron, Martha Masters, Dominika Petrova, and Stacy Warner, as well as Lawrence Kutner and Amber Volakis, who both died in previous seasons but appeared as hallucinations. The episode was watched by 8.72 million U.S. viewers and received mixed critical reception, with the likes of E! Online and Entertainment Weekly praising its writing and acting and The A.V. Club being more critical of its plot and writing.[4]
