The Federal University Otuoke[1] is a Federal Government-owned University sited in Otuoke, a town in Ogbia local government area[2] of Bayelsa State,[3] Southern Nigeria.[4][5] The university is one of the nine new Federal Universities established by the Federal Government of Nigeria[6][7] in February 2011 under the administration of president, Dr Goodluck Jonathan.[8][9] Federal University Otuoke is sited in the heart of the oil-rich[10] Niger-Delta Region of Bayelsa State.[11] The university was established in 2011 and started with 282 pioneer students.[12] The university has six (6) faculties and offers degree courses at undergraduate levels.[13] and Post Graduate Levels - offering Post Graduate Diploma, Masters, and Doctorate Degrees.

The undergraduate courses are in the Faculties of Science, Management Science,[14]Social Science and Humanities,[15] Education, Engineering and Technology. The university is a Partner of Sustainable Public Procurement.[16] In November 2020, Prof. Teddy Charles Adias was appointed Vice Chancellor of the university[17]
