Frederick Townsend, FLS (5 December 1822 – 16 December 1905) was a British botanist and Conservative politician who served as a Member of Parliament for six years[1][2] The standard author abbreviation F.Towns. is used to indicate this person as the author when citing a botanical name.[3]
