Galichsky District (Russian: Га́личский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[5] district (raion), one of the twenty-four in Kostroma Oblast, Russia. It is located in the west of the oblast. The area of the district is 2,870 square kilometers (1,110 sq mi).[2] Its administrative center is the town of Galich (which is not administratively a part of the district).[1] Population: 6,661 (2021 Census);[7] 8,738 (2010 Census);[3] 11,503 (2002 Census);[8] 13,792 (1989 Soviet census).[9]
