Gero (下呂市, Gero-shi) is a city located in Japan's Gifu Prefecture. As of 31 October 2017[update], the city had an estimated population of 33,283, and a population density of 39 persons per km2 (101/sq mi), in 12,253 households.[2] The total area of the city was 851.21 square kilometres (328.65 sq mi). The city is famous for its hot springs.
