Geumseong Beom clan (Korean금성 범씨; Hanja錦城 范氏) is one of the Korean clans. Their Bon-gwan is in Naju, South Jeolla Province. According to the research held in 2000, the number of Geumseong Beom clan’s member was 3316. Their founder was Beom Seung jo [ja] who was from Langya Commandery (Hanja: 琅邪郡), China. Beom Seung jo [ja] entered Goryeo as a fatherly master of Princess Jeguk who had an marriage to an ordinary person planned by Chungnyeol of Goryeo in 1274. Beom Seung jo [ja] worked as ministry of rites (禮部, Lǐbu) in Yuan dynasty. Beom Yu su (Hanja: 范有睢), a son of Beom Seung jo [ja], was appointed as munha sirang pyeongjangsa (Korean문하시랑평장사; Hanja門下侍郞平章事) in Goryeo. Beom Yu su (Hanja: 范有睢) made achievements as a commander during suppression of Jurchen people in 1334. Beom Yu su (Hanja: 范有睢) was awarded Gongsin (Hanja: 功臣) and became Prince of Geumseong. Then, Beom Yu su (Hanja: 范有睢) officially started Geumseong Beom clan and made Geumseong, Geumseong Beom clan’s Bon-gwan.[1][2]
