Gilbert Thomas Patterson (born September 5, 1955) is an American Minor League pitching coordinator and former pitcher in Major League Baseball who played for the New York Yankees in its 1977 season. Listed at 6' 1", 185 lb., Patterson batted and threw right handed.[1]
Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Patterson grew up in Miami, Florida. He was a highly touted prospect until a devastating right shoulder injury cut his promising playing career short. Nevertheless, he developed into one of the most respected Minor League pitching coaches and instructors in baseball.[2]
