The Rev.Gilbert Morgan (May 23, 1791 – May 28, 1875) is generally numbered as the second chancellor of the University of Pittsburgh, then called the Western University of Pennsylvania. He served only one year, from 1835 to 1836. His official title at the time was "Principal," a holdover from the institution's academy days.[1][2]
