Gintautas Paluckas (Lithuanian: [ˈɡʲɪntˠɐʊtˠɐs pˠɐˈlˠʊtskˠɐs]; born 19 August 1979) is a Lithuanian politician. In November 2024, he was elected the 18th prime minister of Lithuania, succeeding Ingrida Šimonytė. Paluckas was Deputy Mayor of Vilnius from 2015 to 2019 and the leader of the Lithuanian Social Democratic Party (LSDP) from 2017 to 2021. Paluckas led his party in the 2020 parliamentary election and won a seat in the Seimas. In 2024, as the Deputy Leader of the party, Paluckas participated in the Lithuanian parliamentary election, which was won by the LSDP. As a result, he was nominated as a candidate for the position of Prime Minister of Lithuania.[1][2]
