Giuseppe Penone (born 3 April 1947, Garessio) is an Italian artist and sculptor, known for his large-scale sculptures of trees. He is interested in the link between man and the natural world.[1] His early work is often associated with the Arte povera movement.[2] In 2014, Penone was awarded the prestigious Praemium Imperiale award.[3] He currently lives and works in Turin, Italy.[1]
