Gomes Freire de Andrade, ComC (27 January 1757, in Vienna – 18 October 1817) was a field marshal and officer of the Portuguese army. Towards the end of his military career, he commanded a Portuguese legion in the French army and participated in the French invasion of Russia. He was executed in 1817 after being accused of leading a conspiracy against the Portuguese government.[1]
