Gorodishchensky District (Russian: Городи́щенский райо́н) is an administrative[1] district (raion), one of the thirty-three in Volgograd Oblast, Russia. As a municipal division, it is incorporated as Gorodishchensky Municipal District.[6] It is located in the southern central part of the oblast. The area of the district is 2,450 square kilometers (950 sq mi).[3] Its administrative center is the urban locality (a work settlement) of Gorodishche.[2] Population: 60,188 (2010 Census);[4] 57,308 (2002 Census);[8] 45,982 (1989 Soviet census).[9] The population of Gorodishche accounts for 35.5% of the district's total population.[4]
