HMTV is an Indian 24-hour Telugu news channel launched on 12 February 2009.[1] The channel is operated by Hyderabad Media Pvt. Ltd, which also runs the English newspaper The Hans India.[2][3] HMTV is a part of Kapil Group, promoted by K. Vaman Rao.[4][5][6] Kapil Group is a business conglomerate of over 30 companies whose first company, Kapil Chit Funds was started in 1981.[7][5][8] The current CEO of the channel is Mrs. Lakshmi Rao.[2]
