Haitian diaspora

The Haitian diaspora consists of Haitian people and their descendants living outside of the Haiti. Countries with significant numbers of Haitians include the United States, Dominican Republic, Cuba, Chile, Canada, Brazil, Bahamas and France (including its French Caribbean territories).[1]

There are roughly 3.5 million people of Haitian ancestry living outside Haiti, mainly due to chronic economic issues,[2] gang wars, violence and political crises.
