Hanamkonda district,[3][4] (formerly Warangal Urban district) is a district in the Indian state of Telangana. The district headquarters are located at Hanamakonda.[5] The district borders the districts of Jangaon, Karimnagar, Warangal, Bhupalpally and Siddipet.

The district was formed in 2016 by carving out Warangal Urban district from the erstwhile Warangal district. In August 2021, the Warangal Urban district was renamed as Hanamkonda district.[6]
