Hannah Fry (born 21 February 1984)[1] is a British academic, author and radio and television presenter. She is Professor in the Mathematics of Cities at the UCL Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis.[2] In January 2024, Fry was appointed to be the new president of the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications.[3] Her work has included studies of patterns of human behaviour, such as interpersonal relationships and dating, and how mathematics can apply to them.[4] Fry delivered the 2019 Royal Institution Christmas Lectures and has presented several programmes for the BBC, including The Secret Genius of Modern Life.
