The Henrietta Marie was a slave ship that carried captive Africans to the West Indies, where they were sold as slaves. The ship wrecked at the southern tip of Florida on its way home to England, and is one of only a few wrecks of slave ships that have been identified.

^ Sullivan:28 states the ship started its last voyage from London no earlier than late in 1700 and sank in 1701 or later, based on a trademark on a pewter bottle found in the wreck that carries a maker's mark that was not licensed until November, 1700. All other sources cited in this article agree that the ship began its last voyage in 1699.
