Homer Carroll Jones (February 18, 1941 – June 14, 2023) was an American professional football player who was a wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL) for the New York Giants (1964–1969) and Cleveland Browns (1970).[1] During his career, he was known for his considerable size and speed. Jones is credited with having invented the "spike" touchdown celebration.[2]
