  5. ^ Stereo Review 1991- Volume 56 - Page 84 "DAVE STEWART AND THE SPIRITUAL COWBOYS: Honest. Dave Stewart ... "Honest," his second solo album, is a pleasantly inconsequential piece of ear candy. Its bright, playful arrangements hark back to the cheerful eclecticism of the Sixties, and Stewart's gruff, half-spoken vocals and surreal lyric scenarios find their origins in early Dylan. Stewart hops from pad to pad on the musical lily pond."
