Arteshbod Hossein Fardoust (Persian: حسین فردوست; 21 February 1917 – 18 May 1987) was an Iranian military officer who was the deputy head of SAVAK, the powerful Iranian intelligence agency during the Pahlavi era.[1] He was also a childhood friend of the last Shah of Iran, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi.
