Hunted is a British reality television series that began airing on Channel 4 on 10 September 2015. The series features contestants who are instructed to go on the run for a period of 25 (originally 28) days in mainland Great Britain, whilst avoiding a team of Hunters composed of former and serving police, intelligence personnel, and on-foot teams.

During their time, the Hunters have access to contestants' personal information and use "powers of the state" such as ANPR, CCTV and call tracing to locate contestants. At times, the Hunters will use social media and monetary rewards to members of the public (and captured contestants) for information leading to a successful capture. On the final day, any remaining contestants must reach a designated "extraction" point before being captured, winning a share of £100,000. It has a similar format to the programme Wanted which aired from 1996–1997 on Channel 4.

A celebrity adaptation, Celebrity Hunted, is also produced in aid of Stand Up to Cancer, where contestants compete for a shorter time period of 14 days.

A seventh regular series was broadcast from 17 March 2024 to 21 April 2024. It will be followed by a sixth celebrity series to be broadcast at a later date.

Amidst spring 2024 online fan groups' rumours that Channel 4 confirmed Hunted is discontinued due to the channel's poor finances, no official confirmation of cancellation was made public, nor suggestions by established sources.

At the same time, news outlets reported in spring 2024 Channel 4 had "delayed" recommissioning Hunted[1], while the Evening Standard reported no episodes are being made in 2024.[2] That means no episodes of the regular series will have been filmed since series seven was filmed in 2022, that series then held for its 2024 broadcast.

On June 6 2024 an article in The Sun entitled "Close Call: Fate of huge Channel 4 competition series to be decided by bosses ‘after celebrity spin-off’" stated that Channel 4 will decide on the question of recommissioning the regular series depending on viewership figures for the forthcoming Celebrity Hunted series six. (No reference possible due to Wikipedia sources policy.) That latest Celebrity Hunted series was filmed during 2023 and is due for screening in 2025.
