Yeshayahu Shachar (born Yeshayahu Stengel), also Isaiah or "Ishay" Shachar (6 August 1935, in Haifa, Mandatory Palestine – 19 September 1977), was an Israeli historian,[1][2] that specialized in Eastern European Jewry and early Hasidic philosophy.
